Not to worry I think I have got it going.

Hi, I wonder if you can help, I am trying to setup the FB like plug in. When I click to like something I get an error from facebook saying it cannot load the page, which points to my forum plug in folder. How can I fix this? I assume its something I have done wrong? Cheers

Hmm, I was under the impression that the FB like button should be viewable on news.php as well (similar to the retweet button) and not only when viewing one particular newsitem by clicking on the newstitle. You can still use canonical URLs on news.php that's why I suggested using the newsid variable instead of getting it from the query

Either way I think it's great you're making plugins for e107, especially since things are stagnating a bit lately

acr0nym, I think you perhaps haven't fully comprehended the way FB Like button behaves.

It is meant to be used for canonical URLs and it passes certain meta data along with 'Like' info when someone likes an item. This is how Facebook perceives it and not me.

Ah alright, the reason why I suggested using the newsshortcodes/ variables is because now the facebook like button only shows when you are actually viewing one particular newsitem. When you are on the main page (news.php) it does not show any facebook like buttons because the NEWSID cannot be retrieved from the url.

Now creates shortened URL to the newly created content for content management section

eTweet will automatically tweet about new news posts, downloads posts, content posts etc to Twitter from your e107 powered website as it get posted. It also posts a shortened URL of the newly posted content to Twitter for which it uses the bit.ly ( link:

) API for URL shortening and adds link generated to your bit.ly account for analytic purposes.

The plugin allows customizable tweets seperately for news, download and content sections of the site. It will enable the user to push tweets with hashtag/s to twitter with site promotional intentions. The core code used in this plugin is from Chris Mielke's 'Twitter Blog' plugin for WordPress.

For the plugin to function one need to have twitter and bit.ly accounts which are free to obtain.

I think it would be nice to have it feed posts from "Chatbox II" with the poster's name automatically into twitter. I use a RSS feed to post my Chatbox II to twitter, but it only read every 30 minutes, and it doesn't include the user's name, so it looks like all tweets come from me. (except each tweet has "Buffbox:" in front of the post).

W ould try to add the chatbox tweet feature in the next release but will be supported for the e107 default chat only I suppose.

Right now there is a bugfix release 0.9.1 which you can get from here or sourceforge.net - link:

Ch atbox II and Chatbox support added in the new release. But Chatbox II or Chatbox doesn't pass posters name along the event trigger data.

The new version also implements twitter OAuth. Password and username auth by an App is discontinued from 30th June.
